Mission Statement

Week 1:

After a class period of brainstorming they came up with a constitution style mission statement. The group wanted an element of creativity not just a formal paragraph. The outline is completed and further editing will occur later.

What amazed me is that in a course that had no computer experience requirement, we all came in to the networked classroom and had our class blogs created [well--almost] by the end of the first night! We also logged in to WEbCT and established our class, there.

here is the first draft of the constitution, and maybe the last:
We the students of the Honors Advanced Composition Class, in order to form a more
intellectual union, establish student blogs, publish website reviews, and create websites,
in order to assure future students within the English department that A’s are still possible
in a hybrid course. We also provide common defense in the state of the classroom when
uncertainty arises, we promote equality amongst one another in respect that everyone is
entitled to their own opinions, and secure our grades to ourselves through the use of
peer analysis, and hold our integrity to truth and commitment. We do ordain and
establish this Constitution for the honors class of 2006.

I want to revise and polish the Mission Statement before we put it up--you know--complete sentences and all...
